For the successful completion of your first year of study and in order to enter the next semester, you are required to submit your diploma thesis proposal.

Given that writing a good thesis is one of your study priorities and the thesis defence is one part of the state final exams, it is therefore required at our department for students to complete a compulsory two-semester thesis seminar. The condition for enrolling into this seminar is the registration of the topic of your diploma thesis.

I will register your thesis proposal in the SIS. For this reason I would like to ask you to bring your thesis registration form to me, or to send it by post, by the end of June. Please also send an identical version via email, though the copy sent by email may be without your own nor your supervisor’s signatures.

There are no rules at our department regarding your choice of supervisor or thesis topic. This means that you are allowed to choose your supervisor as well as the topic of your thesis by yourself.
