From 4th to 7th December 2024, a conference entitled Social Fugurations: Long-term processes, present concerns and future directions was held in Prague. The central question addressed at the conference was: Is historical sociology relevant for understanding and addressing contemporary social problems?
The conference represented a major international gathering of historical sociologists and scholars working in related fields and disciplines and was a collaboration between the Norbert Elias Foundation, Amsterdam, the Faculty of Humanities of Charles University, Prague, the International Sociological Association’s RC56 and the University of Warsaw’s Centre of Figurational Research.
