Karel Černý: Instability in the Middle East: Structural Changes and Uneven Modernisation 1950–2015

Middle east's instability is manifested in several ways: regimes crisis, rase of political islam, terorism, revolution, civil wars, immigration increasement. The book proposes explanation of roots of this instability by the tools of teoretical and empirical historical sociological comparative analysis. While there are two contra-thesis concerning the explanation of the development of post-colonial Middle east (old-fashion region, rigid, unchangable, or the region very quickly changing itself) - the book proposes an alternataive perspective based on nonstabil and nonsynchronized rythm of changes in each dimensions of middle east modernisation.
